We are currently searching for an experienced Inspector Aide to support our Southeast Region located in Tallahassee, Marianna, Chipley, or Panama City, Florida market area.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.

What you'll be doing:

  • Will perform a range of routine and standardized work including, but not limited to, manual and/or electronic calculations, computations, and inspections of construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract; field measurements of pay item quantities, project close-out, as well as other Department required documentation
  • Performing basic contract administration functions for transportation projects
  • Works closely with the Senior Inspector to ensure client satisfaction
  • Assist in maintaining daily project diary and perform a variety of simple materials sampling, inspection and/or testing

What you need to have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good organizational, communication, math, and computer skills required
  • Ability to read and interpret such things as construction plans, contract provisions, and inspection procedures
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as required and travel for work out of town
  • Must apply safety philosophy and program to all operations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
