Could you be the full-time onsite Test Laboratory Engineer/Technician (Electrical/Electromechanical)in Hornell, NY, US we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your electrical engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in advancing the performance and reliability of traction and propulsion systems. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (validation, design, and manufacturing), plan and execute electrical and mechanical tests, and prepare detailed test plans and reports, and much more.

We'll look to you for:



  • Configuring and operating data acquisition and instrumentation (sensors, DAQ hardware/software),
  • Performing AC/DC power analysis and electrical measurements, as well as characterizing motors, drives, and power electronics under test,
  • Operating and troubleshooting semiconductor drives/inverters and motor controllers during testing,
  • Collecting, processing, and analyzing test data, and generating test reports with clear findings, plots, and conclusions,
  • Maintaining and calibrating lab equipment and instrumentation, while documenting equipment status and usage,
  • Enforcing and following EHS/safety protocols for high-risk activities (e.g., rotating equipment, high voltage, guarded/contained areas),
  • Collaborating with validation, design, and manufacturing teams to communicate test results and support root cause investigations,
  • Applying your fundamental knowledge of AC and DC power systems to perform AC power calculations,
  • Demonstrating hands-on testing experience, including setting up tests, running DAQ, recording measurements, and producing test reports.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (preffered), Electro-Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics (4-year degree preferred, or a 2-year degree with relevant technical knowledge),
  • Experience or understanding of AC and DC power systems, including performing AC power calculations,
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems integration (motors, drives, sensors),
  • Familiarity with setting up and executing tests, running data acquisition systems (DAQ), and producing test reports,
  • Strong awareness of EHS/safety procedures for lab environments and high-risk equipment,
  • Data analysis skills and ability to interpret measurement results,
  • Knowledge of semiconductor drives, inverters, and motor controllers,
  • Experience with LabVIEW (desired).

Base Salary Range:

In accordance with New York State law, the anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, and qualifications. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation.You don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
