Career Center Job Description
SUMMARY The Work-Study Employment Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the broader Student Employment mission of the Career Center. This position oversees the administration of the Federal Work-Study program from a student employment perspective, partnering with Student Financial Aid and Human Resources to ensure compliance, efficient processes, and strong support for students, families, supervisors, and campus partners. The Coordinator also supports two Federal Work-Study funded programs. First, Mizzou PALS (Preschool Active Learning Service), is a career readiness program matching trained college students with children enrolled in Columbia Public Schools to enhance their language, literacy, and social-emotional skills. Second, the Community Service Work-Study program is a collaboration with the Office of Community Engaged Learning to connect eligible students with employment in local community agencies. Through employer engagement, training, program evaluation, and collaborative partnerships, the Coordinator enhances meaningful employment experiences that promote student success and community impact. M-F 8am - 5pm, some weekend and evening work, especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 7pm Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
