Mail Clerk I, you will play a vital role in keeping the university connected. Every day, you'll ensure that thousands of pieces of mail and packages move accurately, securely, and on time-supporting students, faculty, researchers, and staff across campus.

Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages following established procedures.- Prepare outgoing mail, including weighing, metering, labeling, and bundling for USPS and courier pickup.
Perform campus mail deliveries and pickups using carts or departmental vehicles.- Assist with basic metered mail operations and identify appropriate mail classes and services.
Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and related documentation.- Follow postal regulations, safety guidelines, and departmental policies.
Provide courteous customer service and respond to routine mailrelated inquiries.- Identify and report damaged, misdirected, or suspicious mail in accordance with established protocols.
Support special projects, bulk mailings, and seasonal workload increases as needed.- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and campus customers.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions related to work assignments.
- Lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing up to 70 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
High school diploma or equivalency. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior experience in mail services, logistics, warehouse, or delivery operations
- Familiarity with USPS classes of mail and basic metering equipment
- Customer service experience in a campus or business environment
|

- Valid North Carolina driver's license is required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained
