| Essential Job Duties |
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our dynamic environment. The primary role of this position, in collaboration with
VBDDL team members, is to serve as a
University Program Associate supporting the administrative and operational functions of a veterinary diagnostic and research laboratory. As a vital part of our mission, the individual in this role will follow and maintain laboratory administrative and workflow standard operating procedures (SOPs), updating them as needed to ensure excellence in our daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing laboratory communications (phone, voicemail, and email); communicating with veterinary professionals, clients, and collaborators; providing administrative and clinical sample handling to support diagnostic and research sample submissions and testing.
- Assist with identifying and resolving issues with sample submissions, answering client questions, addressing concerns, and coordinating clinical consultations with laboratory directors.
- Utilizing the laboratory information system (LIS) to organize and retrieve data; compiling and maintaining laboratory records, documents, and spreadsheets related to clinical, research, and
- Administrative activities; supporting research staff with data compilation and organization; and managing the migration and long-term digital storage of laboratory records in accordance with data security requirements.
- Support general laboratory operations, including monitoring office supply inventory, maintaining office equipment, ordering laboratory materials and supplies for research projects as directed by VBDDL principal investigators, coordinating updates to laboratory websites and voicemail systems, and assisting with social media communications and client outreach; other administrative duties may be assigned by the laboratory manager and principal investigators.

| Other Responsibilities |
- Following established laboratory and administrative SOPs.
- Working independently or alongside laboratory staff.
- Handling clinical samples in preparation for diagnostic testing including performing daily SNAP 4Dx Plus testing.
- Entering research laboratory accessions.
- Maintaining office and laboratory workspaces
- Completing other duties as assigned by the laboratory manager and principal investigators.

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
|
| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with the following computer and software: Google Drives, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Orchard/UVIS, or other laboratory information systems.
- Experience interacting with veterinarians and scientists utilizing diagnostic services.
- Experience working in a research laboratory environment.
