Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The Supervisor, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operational oversight, technical guidance, and direct supervision of coworkers within the assigned facilities area, shift, or facility location. The incumbent is accountable for directing departmental workflow, ensuring coworker competency, and maintaining the highest standards of facilities operations, safety compliance, and service excellence within the designated area of assignment. This role is responsible for the selection, orientation, and training of new coworkers, as well as the ongoing coaching, performance management, and professional development of all assigned facilities coworkers. The Supervisor defines performance expectations, evaluates coworker performance, and initiates corrective action as warranted, in alignment with health system policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements. This position serves as a primary technical and operational resource within the assigned facilities area. The Supervisor maintains accurate departmental records, ensures adequate coworker coverage across assigned shifts and locations, and promotes effective communication, a culture of continuous improvement, and coworker engagement within the team. This position exercises independent judgment in managing the day-to-day operations, coworker assignments, and service delivery of the assigned facilities function. This position is expected to work onsite and travel regularly to UCI Health facilities and locations to support operations.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of all types and functions of elevators including applicable elevator codes, standards and regulations
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must have 3 years of supervisory experience in physical plant operations or related field
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Knowledgeable about strategies for improving utility usage efficiency and concepts related to high performance medical center buildings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated, strong conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills
  • Current State of California Driver's License
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
