Job Title: IT Project Manager (AMI 2.0 Program)

Location: Rosemead, CA (Onsite)

Duration: 12 months

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM


Job Summary (Simple / Candidate-Friendly)

This role is for an IT Project Manager working on a large smart grid / Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI 2.0) program.

You'll help manage the project from start to finish-planning, tracking progress, coordinating teams, and ensuring everything stays on schedule and within budget.

You'll work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders, helping translate requirements and ensuring smooth delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support full project lifecycle (planning execution closure)
  • Create and maintain project plans, schedules, and reports
  • Track tasks, timelines, risks, and budgets
  • Coordinate across technical teams, business teams, and vendors
  • Gather and document business and technical requirements
  • Assist with process mapping and solution design
  • Monitor progress and escalate issues when needed
  • Ensure alignment between requirements, design, and deliverables
  • Support resource planning and cost tracking



Must-Have Skills

  • Strong IT Project Management experience (7-10 years)
  • Experience managing large enterprise IT projects
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure (big picture view)
  • Experience with:

    • Scope, schedule, budget, risk management


  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, reporting, dashboards)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment



Nice-to-Have / Preferred

  • Experience with AMI / Smart Grid projects (AMI 1.0 or 2.0)
  • Utility industry experience (Electric/Power sector)
  • Experience with system integrations like:

    • MDMS, OMS, SAP, ADMS, Head-End systems


  • Exposure to cloud migration (on-prem cloud)
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical teams


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Engineering, IT, Business, or similar)
