As part of Detection and Measurement, Genfare is a leader in configurable fare collection systems in the public transit industry. What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Supports the monthly close process by preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and preparing supplemental financial reporting information.
  • Preparation of revenue recognition models (ASC 606) for customer contracts
  • Prepare cost variance analysis and associated journal entries.
  • Update standard costs and ensure accuracy in the Bill of Materials (BOM's)
  • Prepare, analyze, and report monthly gross margin analysis by customer, revenue streams, and product lines.
  • Coordinate the physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Prepare periodic inventory reserve calculations.
  • Maintain pricing model and support pricing activities.
  • Assist in resolving sales tax issues and report submissions.
  • Work on special projects as required.
  • Support quarterly SOX testing.
  • Assists with internal and external audits.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of accounting/finance experience
  • Manufacturing cost accounting experience is preferred.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Excel, experience in manipulating large databases a plus
  • Significant hands-on experience using an integrated ERP system
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory, general and cost accounting
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Extraordinary interpersonal skills to work in conjunction with other departments.
  • Must be a team player who also works well independently.
  • Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and makerecommendations.
  • Thrives in a small team environment with moderate-to-low supervision; high regard for confidentiality; strong analytical skills; positive attitude.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or similar discipline.

Travel & Working Environment

  • Work is performed primarily in an office or open-air cubicle environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, lift, twist, bend, walk, operate a computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment for extended periods of time.

The compensation information that follows is a reasonable estimate for the position and is provided pursuant to legal requirements in this state. The salary estimate provided represents the typical salary range for the position, and other factors may be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary, including: skill set, experience, training, education, organizational needs, internal equity, market data, and geographic zone. The estimated salary range for this position is: $77,900 - $118,000. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan, subject to the rules governing the plan. SPX offers a variety of benefits, including health benefits, 401k retirement with a company match, and flexible time off.
