Senior Accountant (Contract) Location: Irvine, CA (Fully Onsite) Industry: Entertainment / Retail A growing, multi?location entertainment and retail organization is seeking a hands?on Senior Accountant to support its corporate accounting team during a period of transition. This role will focus heavily on general ledger ownership, month?end close, and reconciliations in a fast?paced, multi?unit environment. This is a fully onsite position based in Irvine, CA. The team values accountability, independence, and professionals who are comfortable rolling up their sleeves. Key Responsibilities * Own general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations * Support month?end and quarter?end close processes * Perform balance sheet and P&L analysis, including variance analysis against budget * Manage prepaids, accruals, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations (including new accounts) * Analyze costs, cost of goods sold, margins, and key performance indicators * Support multi?location and multi?entity accounting * Assist with sales tax filings, business licenses, and property tax reporting * Support inventory?related accounting and work cross?functionally with inventory operations * Assist with audit support and documentation * Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls * Support additional accounting projects as needed Required Qualifications * Minimum 3+ years of hands?on general ledger accounting experience * 5+ years of experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role * Strong working knowledge of GAAP * Experience supporting month?end close in a multi?unit or multi?location environment * Advanced Excel skills * Experience with NetSuite preferred (not required) * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Must?Haves * Self?starter who can work independently without heavy oversight * Strong understanding of full balance sheet and income statement relationships * Comfortable taking ownership and proactively solving problems * Experience in fast?paced, operationally driven environments Nice?to?Haves * Inventory accounting experience * Entertainment, retail, hospitality, or food & beverage industry background * International or multi?entity accounting exposure * ERP implementation experience Work Environment * Fully onsite corporate office * Standard 8?hour workday with flexibility on start time (prior to mid?morning) This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant who enjoys being hands?on, values accountability, and thrives in a growing, multi?location organization.
