Weston Solutions is searching for an enthusiastic and dedicatedEnvironmentalScientistunder our highly successful US EPA START program. The selected candidate will be provided with a wide range of learning opportunities and field experience to broaden their professional skills, while working on unique assignments for our strategic Client. Our multidisciplinary team participates in a variety of projects under the EPA Removal and pre-Remedial programs, including hazardous waste site investigations, environmental assessments, removal actions, preparedness and prevention planning, emergency response to chemical and oil spills, and other technical assignments.
The position offers field experience, exposure to emergency response operations, and structured opportunities for professional growth. Candidates must be willing to travel and participate in a 24/7 oncall rotation as part of START emergency response support.

Responsibilities:

  • Other technical support activities.
Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities:
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or Geology is required.
  • 0-5 years of experience with direct on-scene hazardous substances and oil releases and spills is required.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are needed.
  • Solid organizational skills, as well as the ability to take ownership and accountability, are necessary.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and anticipate team requirements is important.
  • The successful candidate will also have a strong desire to support the mission of protecting public health and the environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 40hour OSHA HAZWOPER (or ability to obtain)
  • Prior field sampling or environmental consulting experience
  • Interest in hazardous waste, emergency response, or remediation work
Physical & Field Requirements
  • Ability to walk long distances on varied terrain
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including for HTRW and chemical response work
  • This position requiresU.S. citizenshipandthe ability topass applicable background checks and regular drug screenings.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $57,189 - $75,171 - $93,049
