Job Description

Overview of the Position:


The Expeditor plays a vital role in managing Distribution Supplier Open Order Books to coordinate on-time delivery and expedite critical parts, increasing inventory availability to achieve our revenue goals and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Review expediting tool, emails, and buy sheets to determine course of action to include expediting or de-expediting of requirements.
  • Follow- up on past due parts with suppliers.
  • Contact suppliers via phone or email to expedite delivery of purchased parts.
  • Revise purchase order ship dates.
  • Enter expediting notes detailing part status into the parts master.
  • Communicate part status to internal customers.
  • Run and post internal performance reports.
  • Manage the vendor list
  • Monitor lead time
  • Review customer usage report and expedite through Quality, Special Projects and/or Suppliers as needed
  • Manage requests to ensure proper inventory levels are achieved



Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheets and access applications required.
  • Previous purchasing experience desired.
  • Ability to work independently.

Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements: Associate's degree or equivalent from technical school with one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and lift up to 10 pounds.
