The Residence Life Department at West Virginia University Institute of Technology is currently accepting applications for a Campus Life Coordinator (Live-On).

About the Opportunity

The Campus Life Coordinator is the primary staff member responsible for the WVU Tech student experience outside the classroom. They lead co-curricular activities, large-scale events, advise students and student organizations, connect students with volunteer opportunities, and serve in the on-call residence life rotation. The goal of the Campus Life Coordinator is to foster a sense of belonging and community for every student.

What You'll Do

  • SGA & SAB Advising: Serve as the primary advisor for the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Student Activities Board (SAB).
  • Organization Oversight: Manage and support all registered student organizations.
  • Campus Programming and Facilities: Lead the planning and execution of major campus events. Manage the Student Union.
  • Service Initiatives: Oversee the campus community service program, connecting students with local volunteer opportunities.
  • Residence Life Duty: Participate in the on-call rotation to assist with student crises or campus emergencies on nights and weekends. As a member of the duty rotation, the CLC lives in an on-campus apartment.
  • Mentorship: Act as a visible mentor and resource for students.
  • Summer Camps: Help lead the summer camps and conferences programs.

Benefits

  • Housing & Meals: This is a live-on position. Compensation includes a campus apartment and meal plan (available when dining services is open fall/spring semesters). The pet-friendly apartment includes all utilities and internet access.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the following:
    • Student activities
    • Residential life
    • Leadership development.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work through crisis situations
  • Ability to advise student leaders
  • Ability to lead events and programming
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and judgment skills
  • Strong computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

Master's in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or a related field

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license.
