Manager Provider Audit


Job Summary

The Manager Provider Audit provides people leadership and process management, while directing performance of operational and financial expectations and strategies, guidance, coaching, leadership, planning and reporting for the departmental staff, as well as various internal/external stakeholders, subcontractors, and the customer/consumer. This position leads supervisors and frontline staff to ensure the business unit is administering the organization's contracts with the best possible service, while maintaining contract expectations, seeking efficiencies to remain within budget constraints while optimizing staffing levels. This position provides staff with technical guidance regarding government cost accounting standards, principles, contractual expectations, and related activities.


Essential Functions
Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Hires, coaches, and develops staff by encouraging growth, providing adequate resources such as training and technologies, and ensuring staff are meeting performance expectations.
  • Ensures the organization meets all contractual expectations including key performance indicators/metrics, quality, and profitability strategies by setting and holding to expectations for the team,
  • Creates, contributes, and manages the contract(s) and corporate budgets for the department and effectively manages the available funding seeking to maximize and drive efficiencies.
  • Develops, coordinates, and monitors audit plans/performance, departmental goals, and strategic plans and reporting outcomes to upper management including senior leadership within the department and organization.
  • Communicates the objectives of contract objectives and projects to key stakeholders and collaborates with staff to define scope, outcomes, and visionary guidance regarding the overall contract strategic plan.
  • Provides consulting/advisory on special projects as a proactive role in the identification of risks and controls.
  • Monitors and coordinates communication of deliverables to internal and external customers in a timely manner.
  • Understands and prepares defined updates to our customers based on contractual requirements tied to government, state, commercial, or private healthcare deliverables. Must be able to communicate this in a proactive, positive, professional manner representing the company and promoting our strengths, identifying our weaknesses, and proactively addressing our opportunities to give reassurance we are meeting our goals.
  • Ensures responsiveness to internal and external audit findings and implements timely changes as appropriate.
  • Investigates and communicates high profile inquiries to internal and externally customers. This may include coordination with inside and/or outside legal counsel, political, state, government officials, positively representing our company and working towards resolution of the issue in a timely manner.
  • Represents Noridian through attendance, participation, and/or presentation at healthcare industry conferences and meetings
  • Monitors activities of subcontractors to ensure they are performing within expectations of subcontracts and is responsible for reviewing, updating, and reporting on subcontracts.
  • Ensures strong internal controls and compliance programs within responsible operations.
  • Leads by example by promoting the Noridian Culture and teamwork and initiates process improvements and technology implementation and coaching staff through the process.
  • Participates as the area subject matter expert, or identifying who the SME may be in the team at any level, to assist with business development activities for growth opportunities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field OR equivalent work experience
  • 5 years' government cost accounting reimbursement regulations, policies, or related experience
  • Knowledge of management theories and practices
  • Understands computer information systems
  • Basic accounting practices
  • Demonstrated success/ability to innovate and drive continuous process improvement
  • Direct or indirect leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate resolution of complicated and controversial matter


Preferred Qualifications
Above requirements and the following:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 24 Credit Hours in Accounting
  • 5 years' experience managing staff
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and manage a large group of people
  • Ability to direct and maintain a productive and conducive working environment
  • Ability to coordinate activities among co-workers
  • Ability to develop problem solving skills within staff and oneself
  • Strong analytical skills

Below is the salary range for potential new hires.

Salary Range: The pay range for this position is $79,267.71 - $130,374.83, per year however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
