SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

This position is responsible for managing the Bank's Credit Risk Function through Credit MIS, Portfolio Stress Testing, Credit Loan Policy, Business Unit Risk Officer, Quality Control, Letter of Credit Monitoring, Credit Risk Review and Internal audit issue monitoring. In conjunction with SSB Credit Leadership, formulates the Bank's Commercial credit policies, standards and procedures to ensure the overall quality of the lending portfolio. The Director of Credit Administration must be well-versed in sound lending principles, the Bank's loan policy, and current Federal and state laws and regulations. The Role will supervise and develop the Credit Administration team to assess risk within the loan portfolio. This Leader must be able to work well with all levels of the organization and build strong relationships with Banking Group Chief Credit Officers, Credit Administration Leadership, Credit Administration Business Unit Owners, Executive Leadership, Credit Risk Review, Internal and External Audit, and Bank Regulators as well as other operational support teams. The role will require a skill set that balances operational requirements with lending knowledge, and technical skills. The Director of Credit Administration is expected to proactively identify and communicate ideas for improving the credit administration process including the use of technology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS This position is expected to perform the duties, tasks, and responsibilities as outlined below:

  • Manages and leads team;
  • Lead project management efforts for Credit Administration process improvement as assigned;
  • Read, analyze and synthesize large amounts of information;
  • Interact with regulators, OCC and Federal Reserve;
  • Interact with Credit Risk Review, Audit, Risk Management;
  • Coach, mentor and develop Credit Administration team, all roles;
  • Drive strict compliance with the Bank's policies and procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines;
  • Continuously update skills through Bank and third-party training;
  • Complete performance reviews, promotions, verbal and written corrections;
  • Drive Bank Culture in the Credit Administration Team
  • Conduct periodic goal setting meetings with team;
  • Recommend addition or reductions in Credit Administration Team;
  • Participates in various intradepartmental and interdepartmental bank committees, including General Loan Committee, Special Assets Committee, Loan Policy Committee, Middle Market, CRE Committee, Business Banking Committee, Management ALCO, Model Risk Management, Data Governance, Technology, Information Security;
  • Loan Due diligence for potential bank acquisitions;
  • Assist in the Integration of acquired loan portfolios
  • Provides reporting to Executive Management as requested by CCO;
  • Recommendations for loan policy changes/enhancements
  • Know and stay abreast of economic conditions;
  • Special presentations as assigned
  • Special projects as assigned

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements
  • Education: Education: Requires bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a related field; Graduation from a recognized school of banking and/or business-related graduate degrees are a plus.
  • Experience: Accounting or Finance experience is encouraged; A minimum of 15 years banking experience required, with a minimum of 10 years Loan Administration experience
  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Strong interpersonal skills, proficient computer skills, ability to multitask and prioritize projects

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training; New Employee Orientation; other training as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with the use of the right desk. This position may require bending and reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position is located inside a cooled and heated facility with the ability to go to a break room or rest room during breaks.

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology are delivered. Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.
