Provide, Preventative, Predictive maintenance. Electrical, Mechanical, troubleshooting, repair, rebuild, replace in kind of components and parts. Additional details of related skills needed at pre-defined maintenance tech levels can be found in the job functions tools and matrix. Utilities, HVAC, Ammonia systems are primary focus.

What You Do.



  • Utilize various software packages such as APSM (e.g., investigations), SAP (e.g., work task assignment), and the building management software.
  • Utilize the predictive maintenance diagnostic tools and procedures provided, interpreting and documenting results. Taking appropriate measures to prevent failure.
  • Operate and maintain the plant pneumatic, hydraulic, fire protection, water & sewer, steam, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Ammonia system knowledge and trouble shooting skills are necessary.
  • Maintain, systematically troubleshoot, repair, and replace in-kind, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic parts, primarily for facility HVAC control and utility-based equipment.
  • Ensure all work performed on ammonia systems comply with PSM & RMP requirements, following RAGAGEP standards (Recognizing and Generally Accept Good Engineering Practices).
  • Work with internal and external contacts to maintain, update, and comply with all PSM, RMP, State, and City recording and legal requirements.
  • Maintain check sheet records for data collection purposes and regulatory compliance. Utilize system-based process where available and follow any corrective action when needed.
  • Maintain and update technical manuals for utilities, HVAC, and ammonia related systems.
  • Plan and schedule contractor maintenance service as required while utilizing system processes as appropriate.
  • Provide support for opposing shifts and / or on weekends, as needed to support utility related activity and projects.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow GMP practices.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Train and support other team members.


Your Education and Experience.



  • Associates degree required in a technical discipline or journey worker credential in an accredited technical discipline.
  • Additional electrical and mechanical on the job training demonstrated skill sets preferred.
  • SAP knowledge and Microsoft Office preferred.


Your Qualifications.



  • Ammonia systems, HVAC, Steam generating system, refrigeration training and certification required
  • Refrigeration license strongly preferred
  • RETA CARO is required within one year of employment
  • RETA CIRO is strongly preferred
  • Industry recognized boiler license is strongly preferred
  • Requires a high level of proficiency and mental as well as physical alertness.
  • Ability to work independently with resourcefulness, originality, and initiative.
  • Understanding of functional criteria for control systems, power systems, and electronic device selection.
  • Soft skills, interacting, positive reinforcement, teamwork, we not me attitude, highly cooperative, attentive, leading by example, etc.
  • Skills and competencies further defined in attached functional expectations for this position.
