Are you an aspiring computer science professional looking to gain practical experience in the field of AI, so you can expand your skillset? The AI-Agentic & Machine Learning Development Internship is an incredible opportunity to put your skills to the test and apply your theoretical knowledge in a real-life business environment.

At VSP Vision, we're on a mission to help people see every possibility-and we do that through our strategic business pillars that work together to connect nearly 90 million patients and their health data to network doctors in a variety of settings across the globe.

As the AI-Agentic and Machine Learning Intern, you'll collaborate with AI leaders, data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to build agentic frameworks and explore supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning approaches. Your work will leverage cutting edge tools like Mistral AI, OpenAI, Claude and Snowflake Cortex, as well as platforms like Snowflake, Azure ML, and AWS SageMaker.

Responsibilities for this role will include the following:

Agentic

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with business teams toclarifywhat'sneeded and proposewhat'spossible to elevate their operating practices
  • AI Agent Development:Assistin building and refining AI agents using LLMs and multimodal models for tasks such as data exploration, scenario planning, andworkflow automation
  • Prompt Engineering & Orchestration: Design prompts and workflows that enable agents to reason, plan, and act autonomously
  • Data Integration & Context: Work with structured and unstructured datasets, metadata and metrics definitions to create a contextual layer the enables agent performance
  • Testing & Evaluation: Conduct rigorous testing of agent capabilities, including edge cases and failure modes
  • Documentation & Reporting:Maintaindetailed records of prompts, responses, agent iterations, and performance metrics

Machine Learning

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align ML solutions with business goals and deployment requirements
  • Model Development: Build, train, and evaluate ML models for tasks such as classification, regression, clustering, and anomaly detection
  • Data Preparation: Clean, transform, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets to support model training and validation
  • Experimentation: Explore different algorithms and architectures, including decision trees, neural networks, and ensemble methods
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize models for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability using techniques like hyperparameter tuning and cross-validation
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear records of experiments, results, and insights for reproducibility and team knowledge sharing
