Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Network Engineer II to support classified and unclassified network operations within a complex Department of Defense (DoD) test, integration, and laboratory environment. This role involves implementing, configuring, troubleshooting, sustaining, and assessing Government Off the Shelf (GOTS), Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS), and Program of Record (PoR) network technologies across multiple enclaves in support of live and simulated test events, fleet support, and mission-driven operations. The position requires strong practical experience in network engineering, including routing, switching, VLANs, ACLs, multicast, firewalls, TACLANE support, and network performance analysis, as well as the ability to independently evaluate complex technical conditions, apply sound engineering judgment, and develop effective solutions that maintain operational continuity, support mission objectives, and meet cybersecurity and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex network environments and apply engineering knowledge to develop, implement, and sustain secure classified and unclassified network infrastructures across multiple enclaves
  • Determine technical requirements, dependencies, risks, and constraints and translate them into executable network solutions that support lab operations, system integrations, and test events
  • Apply advanced network engineering principles to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize routing, switching, OSPF, VLANs, ACLs, multicast, DNS, firewalls, encryption devices, and other core network technologies
  • Independently assess GOTS, COTS, and Program of Record systems and execute upgrades, engineering changes, baseline modifications, and sustainment actions in alignment with mission and operational requirements
  • Diagnose complex network and interconnectivity failures, determine root cause and operational impact, and implement corrective actions to restore service and maintain mission continuity
  • Interpret and apply cybersecurity and compliance requirements, including STIGs, RMF, ATO, vulnerability remediation, and secure configuration standards, using professional judgment to ensure secure and compliant operations
  • Prepare technical documentation, risk assessments, recommendations, and status reporting that demonstrate clear analysis, sound judgment, and accountability for implementation and operational outcomes

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as networking, computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, or a closely related discipline

OR

  • Equivalent specialized knowledge customarily acquired through a combination of military training, formal technical instruction, certifications, and substantial progressively responsible practical experience performing work of comparable scope, complexity, and independent judgment
  • Security+ (IAT Level II)
  • CCNA (or higher)
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (final)

Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering, network administration, or network operations within a DoD, enterprise, lab, test, or other complex technical environment
  • Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, troubleshooting, and sustaining enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, VLANs, ACLs, DNS, firewalls, and encryption devices
  • Experience analyzing complex network environments, evaluating technical issues, and developing effective solutions to support operational, integration, and test objectives
  • Experience applying cybersecurity and compliance requirements within operational environments, including STIGs, vulnerability remediation, RMF, and ATO support
  • Experience producing technical documentation and communicating network status, risks, and recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders and customers

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting classified and unclassified enclaves in Navy, MDA, NIWC Pacific, or other DoD test, fleet, or laboratory environments
  • Experience with Program of Record, GOTS, and COTS technologies such as ADNS, CANES, ISNS, JTEN, JIOR, NGS, TACLANE, VoIP/VTC, or similar network systems
  • Experience with ACAS, Nessus, SCAP, eMASS, VRAM, CeDAR, or other RMF and ATO support tools and processes
