Role Overview: Trinseo is seeking a transformational, hands-on Chief Information Officer (CIO) to shape and lead the company's technology strategy and execution across Enterprise Applications, IT Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Compliance, and IT Strategy & Planning. Reporting to the Executive Vice President and CFO, the CIO will build and lead a world-class IT organization aligned to the business and growth strategy-while modernizing infrastructure, advancing pragmatic and effective cybersecurity, strengthening governance, and creating a reliable, agile, and cost-effective IT platform globally. Deep SAP expertise is required, including experience across multiple implementations. This leader will develop and grow a high-performing, results-oriented IT team, execute major strategic programs, communicate clearly at all levels, and build strong cross-functional partnerships to integrate business strategy with IT capabilities. Responsibilities 1) Strategy, Modernization & Business Value Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve organizational goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems. Advise and counsel leadership on technology opportunities that deliver competitive advantage and/or financial impact. Drive continuous modernization of IT infrastructure and the overall IT platform to support a reliable and agile enterprise. 2) AI, Digital Technology & Data Governance Own and lead the enterprise AI and digital technology agenda, defining the strategy, priorities, and execution roadmap in direct alignment with overall business objectives. Actively drive the adoption and effective use of AI and digital capabilities across the organization, ensuring solutions are pragmatic, scalable, and deliver measurable business value. Establish and enforce robust data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality, security, compliance, and responsible use of AI. Champion a data- and analytics-driven culture by embedding insights into business discussions and decision-making, with disciplined ROI analysis guiding investment and execution decisions. 3) Operating Model, Governance, and Financial Stewardship Assess and recommend improvements or re-engineering of the IT organization, identifying opportunities to optimize systems and resources (staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and/or development) in a fiscally responsible manner. Assess and communicate risks associated with IT investments. Own development, tracking, and management of IT operating and capital budgets; review hardware/software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to drive economies of scale. Establish governance frameworks for digital transformation initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational goals and minimize risk. 4) Enterprise Applications & SAP Roadmap (Including S/4HANA) Establish a roadmap for effective business systems evolution, including the next-phase evolution and implementation of SAP S/4HANA. Coordinate consultation with internal stakeholders to define business and system requirements for new technology implementations. Lead selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major systems, including business case justification and cost/benefit analysis for IT investments. Enhance IT governance to ensure predictable, reliable implementation and strong project management so initiatives deliver expected results on time, within scope, and within budget. 5) Cybersecurity, Risk, and Compliance Design and maintain an effective cybersecurity program that protects company assets in a cost-justified manner and ensures compliance. Manage risk across business IT systems and underlying infrastructure. 6) Service Delivery & Standards Define and communicate organizational plans, policies, and standards for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems. Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with internal customers and monitoring of IT systems performance. 7) Leadership, Talent Development & Change Enablement Lead and develop a global IT organization (60+ team members including internal, contractor, and outsourced resources), setting goals, operating procedures, and strengthening the talent pipeline through recruitment, training, and mentorship. Drive leaders to re-examine how work is done, challenge assumptions, and mentor the business on how to harness IT resources effectively. Develop strategy for building user knowledge, including effective and repeatable end-user training. Qualifications Education A bachelor's degree in information technology, management information system or related field. Master's or MBA degree is preferred. Desired Experience
15+ years of successful information technology leadership experience in a large, multi-location, global and complex environment. At least 5 years' experience in manufacturing or chemical industry is required.
