Position Summary/ Department Summary: The Ebrahimi-Fakhari Laboratory within the Movement Disorders Program in the Department of Neurology at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Coordinator to support clinical and translational research focused on rare childhood-onset neurological disorders. The laboratory studies the clinical and molecular mechanisms underlying childhood-onset movement disorders and related neurogenetic conditions with the goal of advancing disease-modifying therapies and improving patient care. The Clinical Research Coordinator will play a central role in coordinating clinical research activities, including natural history studies, biomarker projects, and multi-site research collaborations such as the Spastic Paraplegia Centers of Excellence Research Network (https://www.rarediseasesnetwork.org/sp-cern). Responsibilities include participant recruitment and consent, coordination of study visits, regulatory compliance, data management, and communication with clinicians, patients, and collaborating institutions. This role provides exposure to patient-centered research and clinical trial readiness initiatives in rare neurological diseases and is ideal for candidates pursuing careers in medicine (MD or MD/PhD), clinical research, translational neuroscience, public health, or biotechnology. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate daily operations of clinical research studies, including scheduling and conducting study visits Recruit and consent research participants and assist with participant screening and enrollment Collect and manage clinical data, patient-reported outcomes, and biospecimens Maintain accurate study documentation and regulatory binders in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, amendments, and continuing reviews Maintain research databases (e.g., REDCap) and ensure data quality and completeness Track study milestones, enrollment metrics, and research activities Coordinate shipping, tracking, and documentation of research samples when applicable Assist with coordination of multi-site research collaborations and communication with study partners Support preparation of study materials, abstracts, reports, and progress updates for funding agencies Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, biochemistry, public health, psychology, or a related discipline required. Experience: Two years of related work experience is required for the role. Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced research environment. Experience coordinating human subject research studies or working in a clinical research environment is preferred. Familiarity with research databases (e.g., REDCap), regulatory documentation, and IRB processes is desirable. Experience working with patient populations, rare diseases, or neurological disorders is beneficial. The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
