The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practicing Provider for its General OBGYN division serving patients in community FQHC settings as well as UC Health clinics. Candidates should have an interest in serving a patient population in a community setting. Primary responsibilities include working collaboratively with OB/GYN generalist physicians to deliver comprehensive and trauma-informed care.

Essential Functions

  • Provide prenatal care including outreach to pregnant patients with social determinants of health that make it difficult for patients to obtain prenatal care
  • Work in conjunction with Care Managers, Social Workers, RN's and MD's to provide full class care to all patients
  • Provide Postpartum care
    Provide family planning options and perform procedures related to family planning
  • Provide procedures and care related to pregnancy
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
  • Perform office-based procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, and complete in a timely fashion per department standards.
  • Seek the consult of supervising physicians when needed and participate in case/chart review.
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
  • Complete all trainings in a timely fashion.

Nurse Practitioner

Required Education



  • Master's degree in nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program.



Required Trainings/Certifications



  • Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority
  • Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty



Required Experience



  • Three (3) years nursing experience
  • Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty

Physician's Assistant

Required Education



  • Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program




Required Trainings/Certifications



  • Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
