Overall Responsibilities: The Senior Manager of Business Development is responsible for leading the effort to secure and introduce product and service opportunities for Bosma Enterprises. These business opportunities will support Bosma's Strategic Plan and help create jobs for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. The Senior Manager of Business Development will create and manage their individual portfolio of accounts. Business is generated primarily through prospecting new businesses, developing relationships, and providing customers with exceptional service. The incumbent will be required to demonstrate the ability to creatively solve problems, close the deal, and show integrity throughout the whole process. The Senior Manager of Business Development will be the face of Bosma, working closely with Bosma's vendors and suppliers. This position will have the responsibility to develop and oversee commercial and government business development functions for all products and/or services, including new business development lines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required.
- 10+ years in sales and/or business development within the federal space with a proven track record
- Salesforce experience is a plus
- Government contracting knowledge is preferred

- Possesses the ability to build strong relationships with potential and existing customers through personal contact, email, and other forms of communication.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time as necessary.
- Proven strengths in researching, identifying opportunities, organizing, planning, prospecting, evaluating opportunities, analyzing ROI, and project management.
- Ability to quickly master policies, procedures, and processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a complex business development environment.
- Excellent communication skills including active listening and the ability to recognize and develop targeted production opportunities.
- Proven ability to identify key decision makers within an organization, including establishing and expanding an effective relationship and managing their expectations for expanded production opportunities.
- Ability to accurately capture prospect needs and preferences and effectively communicate those needs and preferences within a cross-functional environment.
- Superior written and oral presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe, as well as excellent Internet research skills. Experience working in Salesforce is a plus.
- Detail-oriented; able to keep accurate records, databases, and documentation.
- Ability to handle data with discretion and confidentiality.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the effort to drive new commercial and government business efforts.
- Committed to closing new business and growing existing business lines to diversify the organization's lines of business.
- Maintain a pipeline of forecasted opportunities of new business.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of business development strategies in the industry and the competitive landscape to execute initiatives.
- Develops and implements an annual development plan to include strategies that are aligned with organizational objectives.
- Identify and develop potential new production opportunities and services for customers to create jobs for people who are blind or visually impaired.
- Works with the appropriate Bosma team to evaluate the feasibility of each potential business development lead against documented department criteria.
- Monitor progress toward goals identified in the company's strategic plan.
- Develop long-term relationships and communicate frequently with prospects and customers through phone, e-mail, video conferencing and in-person visits.
- Build a portfolio of clients from relationships and actively research and seek out future prospects.
- Prepare effective, compelling, and professional proposals, presentations, and reports that are consistent with Bosma policies and procedures.
- Follows all of Bosma policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
