A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in driving performance across the production floor, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are achieved within a large and complex manufacturing area. This role provides leadership for both 1st and 2nd shift production operations, supporting frontline leaders and team members while maintaining a strong, visible presence.

Working cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Human Resources, the Operations Manager executes site strategies related to manufacturing performance, capital equipment, and talent development. This leader is responsible for fostering a strong culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement while ensuring daily operations run efficiently and effectively.

The Operations Manager reports directly to the Site Leader and serves as a key driver in maintaining operational stability and supporting the success of the production teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Maintains a visible and engaged presence on the production floor, actively participating in team engagement initiatives, town halls, and site-wide communications to reinforce alignment, transparency, and a strong team culture.
  • Conducts regular check-ins with frontline leaders and team members to stay connected to daily operations, address concerns, reinforce expectations, and ensure consistent communication across shifts.
  • Plant Operations Management
    • Manages operations in accordance with principles, policies and procedures established by the company.
    • Strives to meet and exceed budgeted production and financial goals.
    • Reviews production levels for on-time delivery and past due orders.
    • Analyzes aggregate capacity utilization on a regular basis and makes recommendations for the purchase of new equipment.
    • Integrates Lean thinking into the culture and organization.
    • Leads continuous improvement projects and execution of capital projects.
    • Interacts with and positively influences current and potential customers during site visits.
    • Maintains a safe work environment and ensures health, safety, and environmental procedures are consistently followed.
  • Strategic Management
    • Develops and launches short and long-term manufacturing plans, ensuring fulfillment of customer and quality expectations.
    • Contributes information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing appropriate countermeasures for KPIs; identifying and resolving problems.     • Works with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the company's growth objectives.
  • Talent Management
    • Leads and develop team members following the One Orchid global talent management approach to select, manage, and develop our best team.
    • Ensures the growth of our positive business culture through behaviors that align with our core values and leadership competencies.
    • Ensures Performance Goals aligned to support business goals are established and communicated throughout the organization.
    • Ensures team members have the required knowledge and skills prior to performing job duties independently, including conducting, documenting and evaluating training effectiveness.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor (Required)
  • Master (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ Years of Experience in a Manufacturing Environment (Required)
  • 3+ Years of experience leading hourly and salaried professional organizations (Required)
  • Exposure to integrated business planning (Sales & Operations Planning process), quality system deployment, and lean manufacturing in an industrial setting (Preferred)
  • 1+ Years of Experience Operating Machining Equipment in a Manufacturing Environment (Preferred)
  • Cross-functional Experience (Preferred)
  • Experience in a FDA Regulated Environment (Preferred)

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) - Practice Management Institute (PMI) (Preferred)
