What You Can Expect

As our Cash Application Analyst Intern, you will support the Cash Application team in processing and reconciling payments, assisting with financial reporting, and helping maintain accuracy across transaction records. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in cash application processes, develop a stronger understanding of financial operations, and build valuable skills in analysis, attention to detail, and collaboration within a fast-paced corporate environment. This internship opportunity is based in Houston, TX, and spans three months, from June 1, 2026 to August 21, 2026. You will report to the Retail Operations Manager.




  • Apply incoming payments to customer accounts and invoices accurately
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments or customer accounts
  • Assist in reconciling daily bank transactions and identifying exceptions
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to improve cash application efficiency
  • Work with unclaimed property team to ensure items are properly distributed and accounted for
  • Support the month-end closing process by preparing* relevant documentation
  • Communicate with customers or internal teams regarding payment issues when necessary



What You'll Bring



  • You are at least a Junior Undergraduate Student and is currently working toward a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
  • You are mathematically inclined and demonstrate strong quantitative reasoning
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and are goal oriented
  • You have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and assignments in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy
  • You are self-motivated and able to work independently without assistance from your supervisor
  • You have proficiency with standard office software packages



Additional Details



  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy with a minimum of three (3) days working in office if you are based in Houston, TX
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies



Compensation

Hourly Range: $21.00 - $34.00 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
