Job Description

We are looking for a Manager, Risk Management to join our growing team! In this role, you will oversee the company's enterprise risk management (ERM) and insurance programs, leading the development and execution of Brightspeed's strategy to identify, assess, manage, and mitigate risks across the organization, including its risk financing strategies and claims management processes. Reporting to the Vice President of Litigation, Labor & Employment, you will partner with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure risk management and insurance practices align with the company's strategic and financial objectives and to ensure the company is adequately protected against property, liability, operational, and other risks.

As Manager, Risk Management, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the planning, design, communication, and delivery of the company's overall risk management strategy, including insurance portfolio management and risk retention strategies
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage the company's ERM strategies, to ensure identification, assessment, and effective mitigation of key financial, operational, compliance, and technology risks
  • Monitor emerging risks associated with business growth, evolving operational activities and regulatory developments to ensure risk management and insurance strategies remain aligned with business needs, organizational objectives and risk tolerance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to evaluate insurance needs, recommend appropriate coverage levels, optimize coverage, and control costs
  • Manage annual insurance renewals, including data collection, underwriting submissions, and negotiations with brokers and carriers
  • Manage and lead the administration of all corporate insurance programs, including property, casualty, general liability, auto, workers' compensation, cyber, and other lines
  • Oversee claims management processes, ensuring timely reporting, investigation, and resolution
  • Liaise with, oversee and manage external partners, such as insurance brokers, carriers, actuaries, third-party administrators (TPAs), and legal counsel
  • Lead policy development and process improvement initiatives related to risk management and insurance programs
  • Develop reports and metrics related to insurance performance and claims activity
  • Support risk assessments, including analysis of loss trends, to inform leadership decision-making, risk governance activities, and implementation of losscontrol initiatives
  • Advise on other risk transfer strategies, such as appropriate contractual indemnifications from vendors or customers
  • Prepare insurance budgets, forecasts, and costallocation models
  • Supervise insurance analysts as assigned
Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in risk management or a closely related finance discipline
  • 3+ years of experience managing people or leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience managing insurance programs and claims management processes
  • Experience leading ERM programs
  • Understanding of insurance markets, including workers' compensation and liability programs
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and manage portfolio risk exposures across the organization
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, accounting principles, and internal control environments
  • Strong understanding of ERM frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000) and risk mitigation strategies
  • Proficiency with risk management tools and reporting platforms
  • Strong understanding of state and federal regulations relevant to risk management activities
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, project management, vendor management and prioritization capabilities
  • Strong partnership and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
  • Strong consulting, negotiation, influence, and communication skills
  • Strategic thinking and decisionmaking
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills; demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and to communicate insights clearly and accurately
  • Adaptability in a dynamic environment

  • Professional certification (CRM, CRMP, ARM, CIA, CISA, PMP)
