Waste Connections is interviewing for a superstar Scale House Attendantto join our team at Central Transfer & Recycling Station-Washougal & Vancouver (4020 Grant St, Washougal, WA 98671 & 11034 NE 117th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98662 )

Wage is $22.50/Hour

Schedule will be as follows:

Wednesday - Thursday: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM at CTR - 11034 NE 117th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98662

Friday - Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM at Washougal - 4020 Grant St, Washougal, WA 98671

Sunday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM at CTR - 11034 NE 117th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98662

Monday - Tuesday: OFF

Safety Sensitive: No

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and direct customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.

  • Nightly closing duties include balancing cashiers cash drawer & reconciling the credit card machine/POS system.

  • Weigh trucks upon entry and exit & calculate total payments for customers based on items disposed of.

  • Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures.

  • Ensure that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate/hazardous material.

  • Answers phone in a professional and enthusiastic fashion.

  • Perform full clerical and general office duties.

  • Assist with office duties, filing paperwork as needed.

  • Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Provide general upkeep of the Scale House.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Prior cash/debit handling experience required.

  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

  • Requires ability to multitask while interacting with customers.

  • Daily computer use/data entry (10 Key); requires knowledge of Microsoft computer applications.

  • Ability to stand throughout an 8-hour shift.

  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

  • Ability to climb, bend, and stop to inspect containers.

  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish preferred.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy.

  • Ability to lift to 20 pounds.

Washington State Pay range for New and Current Employees is $22.50 - $24.00/HR
