Summary:

In this role, you will partner with pharmacy leaders and senior executives to align pharmacy and organizational strategy, co-design and implement strategic initiatives, and demonstrate and communicate value. You will manage individual work efforts and complex projects, delivering insightful data analysis, strategic recommendations, and performance improvement initiatives across ambulatory, retail, specialty, and infusion pharmacy settings.
You will perform advanced financial and operational analyses focused on profit and loss, revenue and margin enhancement, cost of goods, pharmacy procurement, contracting, and 340B program performance. As a business intelligence lead, you will design and develop charts, graphs, tables, and reports to support findings and recommendations; collaborate with colleagues and clients to create custom analytics, business plans, and margin-enhancement strategies; and manage projects that drive savings and revenue growth. You will serve as a strategic insights advisor, providing business and analytical support to colleagues and client senior pharmacy leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced interpretation of analytical results, manipulating complex data to drive change; serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced consultants on data interpretation and storytelling.
  • Develop, execute, and manage project plans to meet timelines, budgets, and expected value; provide timely solutions to ad hoc and complex analytical requests.
  • Facilitate client meetings and discussions; develop and present clear, actionable recommendations to senior and executive leadership.
  • Conduct analyses and research to solve complex problems, interpret trends and regulatory changes, and anticipate impacts for clients.
  • Design and develop charts, graphs, tables, reports, dashboards, and polished presentations that communicate insights, value, and opportunities for improvement to diverse stakeholder audiences.
  • Analyze and optimize 340B programs, including evaluating drug utilization in eligible areas, prescriber and claims data, and charge capture opportunities to improve compliance, product selection, and financial performance.
  • Optimize specialty, retail, and infusion pharmacy performance by assessing prescription capture, drug costs, reimbursement, payer mix, patient assistance programs, site-of-care strategies, and margin improvement opportunities.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain pro formas, financial models, and analytical tools to support cash flow, margin, and revenue projections across engagements.
  • Maintain and enhance specialty and 340B reference files and analytical processes
  • Analyze prescribing, dispensing, and claims files to assess current capture versus opportunity and projected revenue.
  • Collaborate internally to share knowledge, develop intellectual capital, and create or automate templates, tools, and deliverables that support client engagements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous process improvement and understand Vizient products and services to identify opportunities for value expansion and upselling.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in finance, business, analytics, or a related field preferred; advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or CPA) is desired.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required, including healthcare data analytics, financial analytics, or similar analytical roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program required.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering measurable value within health system financial analysis and decision support; hospital pharmacy, including specialty and retail pharmacy, infusion, 340B, pharmacy procurement, contracting, or pharmacy revenue cycle preferred.
  • Experience with SQL, Power BI, MS Access, and dashboard development preferred.
  • Ability to interpret financial analyses and translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business insights for clients, colleagues, and executive leadership.
  • Proven experience working directly with senior executives, with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify opportunities and develop data-driven recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience creating concise reports, dashboards, performance scorecards, and executive-ready presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects from data collection through implementation, meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish and maintain strategic working partnerships.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
