Genesis10 is currently seeking an Associate Data Center Technician - Onsite for a contract position with a Leading Technology Firm located in Richardson, TX or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. As an Associate Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting all failed hard drives and DIMMs, as well as installing new SSD and NVME drives into existing servers. This role requires basic server component add/remove experience and entry-level Linux troubleshooting skills. The quality of work performed will have a direct impact on the stability and performance of the company's enterprise computer systems. Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and resolve failed hard drives and failed DIMMs within server nodes Install new SSD and NVME hard drives into existing servers Troubleshoot and resolve console connectivity issues Troubleshoot and resolve all power supply and RDU (power strip) related issues Troubleshoot and resolve all tier 1 server hardware break fix issues Respond to all system problems on a 24x7 basis and take part in an on-call rotation Assist Data Center Technicians in OS level troubleshooting and network troubleshooting Process (identify, tag, and prepare) all server nodes ready for decommissioning and prepare them for our third-party ITAM vendor to pick up Ensure data center house rules are being followed and immediately report any concerns to leadership Ensure data center cleanliness and report any issues to leadership Requirements: 2+ years in a Data Center Engineering Role 2+ years Linux troubleshooting experience 2+ years server hardware troubleshooting experience Desired skills: Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting Familiarity with server hardware components and troubleshooting A+ plus certification Communication Problem-solving Attention to detail Pay rate: $22.00 - $30.80 hourly.
