Responsibilities ProductExpertise Establish deep technical understanding of design, test, assembly, and operationof specific products. Identifyprogram-level manufacturing and refurbishment risksduring NPI phase, develop mitigation strategiesthat enable scale. Collaborate with Manufacturing Test peers to define,validate,and implement test methods that effectively gauge product quality Engineering Analysis Drivefault isolation and failureanalysisworkstreams todeterminecauses throughrobust engineering and statistical methods. Develop andvalidatecorrective actions thatmeetproduct qualityandoperationalobjectives. Setanalysisexpectations forpartnerdebug andengineeringcapabilities,auditperformanceand drive accountability. Collaborate with Data System/IT partners toimplementdata collection and analysiscapabilitiesthat enable quality control and continual improvementworkstreams FunctionalDebug andRepair Create and deliverproduct training tomanufacturing partners toensurerapid onboarding Develop tools and methods that enable debugging and recovery of deficient product Resolve technicaland operationalchallengesthatinhibittimelyand cost-effective refurbishment Contribute toactivities that refine Microsoft's globalrework and repair strategy Continual Improvement Monitor quality metrics related to test yield, customer returns, and device refurbishmentandidentifyimprovement opportunities. Developand managequality improvement plansacross global manufacturing sites. Lead cross-functional teams of SME across the development and manufacturing organizations to investigate,validate, and implement ongoing improvements. Present quality improvement plans and status to Product and Operations Leadership. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Hardware Engineering or related field AND 5+ years experience in technical engineering, manufacturing, operations, hardware development OR equivalent experience. Preferred qualification: Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Hardware Engineering or related field AND 6+years experiencein technical engineering, manufacturing, operations, hardware development ORBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Hardware Engineering or related field AND 8+years experiencein technical engineering, manufacturing, operations, hardwaredevelopment OR equivalent experience. #W+DJOBS #MDO #Surface #Xbox NPI Product Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
