Backend Developer (SQLFocused) Location: Southern California (Hybrid/Onsite as required) About the Role We're partnering with a large, established enterprise organization supporting millions of customers across multiple business lines to add a highimpact Backend Developer to a critical datadriven team. This role is ideal for someone who loves working deep in SQL, enjoys solving complex performance challenges, and wants their work to have real, visible impact on core business systems. What You'll Be Doing * Designing, developing, and optimizing complex SQL solutions in highvolume, performancecritical systems * Diagnosing and resolving database performance bottlenecks * Writing and maintaining advanced stored procedures and data workflows * Partnering closely with engineers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions * Supporting and enhancing dataintensive backend applications that serve large user populations Required Skills & Experience * Advanced SQL expertise (mandatory) * Handson experience beyond basic query writing * Proven ability to optimize queries and improve performance * Strong understanding of data structures and execution plans * Experience building and maintaining advanced stored procedures * SSIS or comparable ETL experience * Ability to clearly explain technical decisions, tradeoffs, and outcomes Nice to Have (Not Required) * Legacy VB.NET experience * General .NET exposure (strong SQL candidates will be considered even without a .NET experience) What We're Looking For * Strong analytical and problemsolving skills * Engineers who bring depth, not just surfacelevel knowledge * Candidates who can walk through real projects, explain why decisions were made, and articulate impact * Passion for backend development and datadriven systems Interview Insight (What Sets Candidates Apart) The team values realworld experience over theoretical answers. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $63.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
