As an Early Career Structural Engineer (EI/EIT), you will join a team of experienced structural professionals supporting projects ranging from facility assessments and renovations to complex new construction across a diverse portfolio of market sectors. Working alongside licensed Professional Engineers, you will gain hands-on experience in structural analysis, design, construction administration, and multidisciplinary coordination while building the technical foundation necessary for Professional Engineer (PE) licensure and long-term career growth.

SUMMARY:

The Structural Engineer (EI/EIT) will utilize engineering knowledge, judgment, and design software to perform structural analysis, design, and preparation of construction documents under the supervision of licensed Professional Engineers. The individual will contribute to the design and delivery of routine structural projects and key components of larger multidisciplinary projects while continuing to develop technical expertise, project coordination skills, and professional engineering judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Performs engineering assignments requiring the application of standard structural engineering principles, practices, and techniques under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
* Performs structural analysis and design calculations for routine building and facility projects and assists with portions of larger, more complex projects.
* Applies engineering fundamentals, design standards, and applicable building codes to develop structural solutions.
* Develops construction documents including plans, details, schedules, elevations, sections, and specifications utilizing Revit and AutoCAD.
* Reviews sketches, drawings, specifications, and engineering data received from engineers, architects, and other project disciplines.
* Researches code requirements and assists in developing code interpretations and design recommendations.
* Coordinates structural designs with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure consistency and constructability.
* Performs field investigations, observations, measurements, and documentation of existing conditions at project sites.
* Assists with construction administration activities including shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs, site observations, and preparation of field reports.
* Utilizes engineering software to perform structural analysis, calculations, and design documentation.
* Performs quality control reviews of assigned work and assists with checking drawings and calculations for completeness and accuracy.
* Coordinates with drafters and designers to accurately convey structural design intent in construction documents.
* Assists with client communications, project meetings, and coordination efforts as directed by project leadership.
* Works closely with licensed Professional Engineers and senior structural engineers to develop technical expertise and engineering judgment.
* Promotes communication, collaboration, and quality among project team members.
* Responsible for compliance with BRPH Policies and Procedures, Quality Standards, and CAD/BIM Standards.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis or related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college or university.
* Master's degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
* One to three years of structural engineering experience in building design preferred.
* Experience in building design, structural analysis, and preparation of construction documents preferred.

SOFTWARE SKILLS:

* Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Experience with structural analysis and design software including RISA, RAM, and/or ENERCALC preferred.

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

* Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
* Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
* Demonstrated progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
