Koch Fertilizer in Wever, IA is looking for an Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Equipment Leader to join the team! The I&E Leader is responsible for the instrumentation and electrical department as it relates to mechanical integrity and reliability. This leadership role ensures compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies while fostering continuous improvement and team development.


What You Will Do

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of instrumentation and electrical specialists and engineers with a focus on capability and operational excellence, while driving long-term reliability vision for instrumentation and electrical equipment
  • Provide expert technical support for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of instrumentation and control systems, electrical equipment, and automation controls.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies related to electrical and control systems.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies and preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to support process optimizations, upgrades, and plant expansions.
  • Oversee robust and reliable electrical power distribution for the facility.
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex electrical and instrumentation problems.
  • Lead the Management of Change (MOC) process, ensuring technical review and compliance for I&E equipment changes.
  • Foster a culture of stewardship, safety, continuous learning, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Develop spare parts strategies, support troubleshooting, and proactively mitigate business interruptions

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and electrical work within process industries, preferably fertilizer production or chemical manufacturing.
  • Prior training, mentoring, or supervisory experience

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Automation, or related technical field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven leadership experience managing I&E teams in an industrial environment.
