Auria is looking to hire a
Senior Software Engineer Lead. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is responsible for managing federal use of RF spectrum. It is now working on modernizing the IT systems it uses to manage this spectrum. They believe the current systems are inadequate to execute NTIA's spectrum functions in a timely manner. Those systems are limiting the NTIA's ability to accommodate the demands of advanced technologies, such as deploying 5G, advancing space commerce, and securing government missions dependent on spectrum. The goal of this program is to upgrade those systems to latest technical platforms, improve security and scalability of NTIA spectrum systems, develop advanced analytic tools and engineering models, and automate workflows around these spectrum-related functions and processes.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
- Plan technical aspects of complex software and IT systems
- Integrate different subsystems (database connections, UIs, server endpoints and their APIs, computation engines, etc.) into a complete software system of systems
- Provide technical leadership to the team to resolve the most complex technical problems within that system of systems
- Provide guidance to the team when determining how to build or upgrade new features/functionalities into that software to resolve bugs, deficiencies, or mistakes found in the codebase
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
- 10+ years of experience in modern SW programming languages used in full-stack development (Python, .NET, Java, C++)
- Past experience executing a vision for SW system of systems, preferably in the context of a federal SW ecosystem - Strong knowledge base in full-stack SW development, capable of helping team members learn necessary skills to execute your vision
- Ability to develop SW with and lead a cross-functional team of SW developers, RF engineers with SW experience developing a codebase with RF engineering, math, and physics components/models within it
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
- Specific knowledge of best practices and tools/libraries to ensure a SW system complies with modern cybersecurity guidelines
- Past experience building, maintaining, and improving a codebase that leverages multiple programming languages for different tasks (e.g., C++ and Java in different parts of the back-end, JS and Python in the front-end, and Docker + YAML + gRPC + others used in the architecture that supports the entire dev, release, and testing pipelines and processes)
PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $125,000 - $155,000
APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 1, 2026
