Job Description




As a Security Officer - Payroll Provider in Sioux Falls, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Dispatch Officer at a fast-paced tech, media, and telecom location, supporting security-related operations from a central communications hub. You will monitor systems and video feeds, receive alarms and service calls, document activity, and coordinate officer response and customer updates. With an agile, reliable, and innovative team, you will put people first, communicate clearly, and act with integrity while helping protect people, property, and information.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate the dispatch desk by monitoring phones, radios, and security-related systems, prioritizing calls for service, and coordinating responses with on-site staff.
  • Monitor alarm activity, access control notifications, and camera systems as assigned, and escalate unusual conditions per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and communicating updates to leadership and/or client contacts.
  • Help coordinate and document regular and random patrol activity around the business and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years' law enforcement experience or 2+ years' security supervisor or manager experience or 3+ years' security experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have alarm panel experience preferred.
  • Have X-Ray screening experience preferred.
  • Have customer service experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
