Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Certified MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care Certified MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent Education Preferred: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program Experience Preferred: One year of applicable patient care experience or applicable medical office experience as defined by the clinic New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Works well as a member of a team; willing to collaborate with all members of the care team Excellent written and oral communication skills Customer service orientation Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Flexible and positive attitude Attention to detail and accuracy Self-directed and able to perform tasks that are in scope of practice independently with minimal oversight Certification: Must actively maintain MA certification. Caregivers must actively maintain their certification, or they will be transitioned to the Medical Assistant title. Caregivers can be hired as a Certified Medical Assistant if they are a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant. Additional minimum requirement(s) only for Hospital Outpatient Departments Certification(s): BLS (Basic Life Support) Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
