The College of Medicine-Tucson, Department of Psychiatry, is leading efforts to understand, diagnose, treat, and prevent psychiatric disorders, prepare future clinicians, provide state-of-the-art care, and guide community efforts to improve behavioral health. We are looking to hire a Research Technician I position that will conduct and support human subjects research by setting up and conducting study tasks in the lab during sleep deprivation studies. The candidates will adhere to study protocol procedures, administer techniques to meet specific experimental requirements, and assist with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment, instruments, and apparatuses.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain highly detailed records, organize data, prepare data, and enter data into REDCap and Box Health.
  • Attend and participate in weekly meetings.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts and scheduling of participants.
  • Engage in initial contact with potential participants via Zoom, Google Voice, and Email.
  • Engage in TMS (cTBS) administration training, become certified (training/certification will be at no cost to you), and subsequently administer TMS to study participants.
  • Administer basic vitals (resting blood pressure, SpO2, respiration, and body temperature), 3-lead and 12-lead ECG, and cognitive assessments (WASI and RBANS) to study participants.
  • Assist MRI Technicians to prepare participants for and run MRI scans.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.

  • Previous work experience in a lab.
