Electrical Design Technician | Rogers, AR

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Design Technician in Rogers, AR, to support a team of experienced engineers and consultants delivering electrical design solutions for building projects. In this role, you'll assist with analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems while coordinating with cross-functional teams to help meet project goals, client expectations, and budget parameters.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and analysis of electrical systems and the production of detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per applicable code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
  • Support lower complexity design tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to help ensure designs meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG as needed
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of design work; help identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (including other engineers, architects, and project managers) to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
  • Help assemble contractor installation packages for arc-flash labeling, labels, and circuit directories; coordinate delivery to the correct contractors and project locations
  • Help assemble documents needed by engineers for site visits, including scheduling support and tracking deadlines for deliverables

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred
  • Prior experience in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
  • Revit experience preferred
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook
