This opportunity is targeting an aspiring program/project manager who will assist with virtually all facets of a large and complex program, inclusive but limited to the following:

  • Coordinate the work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project's life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), while under the supervision of the Program and/or Project Managers
  • Assist in the management of small projects to larger initiatives.
  • Work with the Program and/or Project Managers, Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic program and/or project reviews
  • Assist the Program Manager with commercial management tasks such as contracts, sub-contracts, budgets, amendments, invoices, forecasts, etc.
  • Assist the Deputy Program Manager - Program Controls with the implementation and use of the Capital Project Management System, including Oracle Primavera Cloud and Unifier.
  • Assist the Program Manager on all aspects of the multidisciplinary team for the East Bank Program, including the development and execution of strategic initiatives
  • Lead special assignments/projects related to planning, engineering, and program management
  • Assist in the coordination of efforts and strategies across several City departments, the Mayor's Office, NDOT, TDOT, MTA, state and federal agencies, outside consultants, and contractors
  • Participation in Professional Organizations to help establish and provide recognition of HDR in the local market
  • The successful candidate will report to HDR's downtown Nashville office in Spring/Summer 2026. The candidate will report to HDR's Brentwood office in the interim.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT, or AICP certified planner or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame
  • 5 years of experience in civil and/or transportation related field.
  • CADD and/or GIS proficiency.
  • Technical writing proficiency.
  • Accomplished presentation skills.
  • Experience in project budgeting/accounting.
  • Project controls experience.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 5 years related experience
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
