Ameresco is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in a highly travelintensive, fieldfocused role. This position requires approximately 80% travel to active project sites and is best suited for professionals who enjoy being onsite, coordinating construction activities firsthand, and supporting project execution in real time. You will work closely with a Senior Project Manager to help implement energysaving solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a regular onsite presence, traveling extensively to project locations (approximately 80% travel) to support daily construction activities and project execution.
  • Assist with the administrative and technical management of construction projects, ensuring successful delivery of energy savings to public, institutional, government, and commercial clients.
  • Support the Senior Project Manager by coordinating field activities, managing project schedules, tracking progress, preparing quality and compliance reports, and facilitating communication between site teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Help manage vendors and subcontractors in the field, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and customer expectations.
  • Maintain and update project schedules, moanitor critical path activities, and track open issues with a strong focus on onsite progress and resolution.
  • Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing special inspections and inspections conducted by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), often requiring onsite attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support project teams and field operations,

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three to five years of project management or constructionrelated experience.
  • Current OSHA 30Hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively (approximately 80%), including overnight stays, as required by project demands.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with Procore software.
  • Proficiency in MS Project.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, proactive work style, and demonstrated OSHA compliance experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field crews, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Comfortable working in active construction environments and adapting to frequent location changes.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $76,000 -$121,500 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
