Job Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineer (MGSE) is responsible for developing mechanical designs for components and systems related to handling, lifting, testing, assembly, and transportation of mechanical and electrical components. This role supports cross-discipline product development through creation and maintenance of engineering documentation, drawings, and CAD models. The engineer works closely with MGSE engineers to ensure designs meet quality standards, facilitate manufacturing operations, and comply with established engineering practices. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Job Responsibilities




  • Develop and maintain part, assembly, and system designs using CREO or other 3D CAD software.



  • Create new parts, assemblies, Bills of Materials (BOMs), simplified representations, and shrinkwraps.



  • Support team members with design knowledge and engineering expertise.



  • Complete layout drawings prepared by others following standard engineering drafting practices (ASME Y14.5).



  • Prepare complete production detail drawings to support manufacturing and assembly.



  • Implement design modifications to improve product quality and facilitate manufacturing operations.



  • Maintain and verify CAD models, documentation, and design records.



  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and integration.




Job Requirements




  • Professional experience with 3D CAD systems such as CREO, NX, or SolidWorks.



  • Experience with machine tool design or modification of mechanical tools.



  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).



  • Familiarity with standard engineering drafting practices (ASME Y14.5).



  • Ability to create and maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and production drawings.



  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.



  • U.S. citizenship is required.




Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field is preferred.

Work Experience

Relevant professional experience using 3D CAD software and mechanical design for manufacturing or assembly operations is required. Experience with machine tools or mechanical tool design is preferred.
