Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Field Operations Manager, Environmental Remediation As a Field Operations Manager, Environmental Remediation you will serve as both a technical expert and direct leader for field operations, providing support for Arcwood's environmental remediation services. This role will consult on technical projects, oversee project management and lead a team of equipment operators to complete remediation activities.

Ideal candidates will have a high level of technical knowledge and the ability to effectively execute field remediation projects, coupled with a strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance procedures.

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Leads and supervises a field remediation team comprised of equipment operators
  • Directs self-performing remediation, hazardous plant demolition, UST removal projects, contaminated soil removal and the installation of onsite treatment facilities
  • Oversees lead, asbestos, and hazardous material abatement activities, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations
  • Coordinates environmental probing and verification requirements and activities
  • Ensures the proper utilization of company-owned heavy equipment and resources; conducts regular site monitoring to ensure safety, productivity and quality
  • Develops project work plans, schedules, budgets and site logistics strategies; complete technical writing required to develop proposals and post-project reporting
  • Conducts technical analysis of all project bid specifications and ensures all required permits and regulatory notifications are secured appropriately
  • Identifies cost-saving opportunities and implements solutions to mitigate project risks
  • Promotes a culture of safety and accountability onsite by conducting job hazard analyses and conducting daily safety meetings
  • Serves as the primary field contact for customers, consultants and regulators
  • Participates in the hiring, performance evaluation, discipline, promotion and termination processes of team members as needed
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education

- Bachelor's degree (required)
- Ohio BUSTER certification (preferred)
- Builder's Licenses (preferred)


Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental remediation, demolition or related field (required)
  • In lieu of degree, 9+ years of experience in environmental remediation, demolition or related field (required)
  • Experience managing self-performing field teams and heavy equipment (required)
  • Experience in environmental probing (required)
  • Experience in environmental demolition (preferred)
