We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Sr. Principal, Global Packaging Engineering supporting the MS & T Team in Fort Worth, TX, a typical day will include:

  • Design and develop product packaging, creating new solutions and improving existing ones.

  • Test, analyze, and select materials for packaging based on durability and cost-effectiveness.

  • Support the design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes.

  • Design processes to manufacture packaging and oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of packaging machinery, systems, and processes to ensure optimal performance.

  • Integrate quality assurance/control processes and procedures into packaging design, ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards.

  • Oversee multiple technical projects, making critical decisions that impact project outcomes.

  • Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.

  • Commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.

  • Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.

  • Build and lead a global community of packaging experts to create synergy, train and upskill talent across the business through structured learnings and process/governance.

  • Harmonize and standardize processes, material selection, design changes, and supplier management to create savings.

  • Establish standardized packaging procedures, operator training programs, and equipment maintenance schedules to minimize human error and equipment-related failures.

  • Deploy automated inspection systems, enhanced testing procedures, and real-time monitoring to detect packaging defects earlier in the production process.

  • Implement ongoing quality metrics tracking, trend analysis, and preventive maintenance programs to sustain packaging quality improvements and prevent incident recurrence.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience

  • Worksite location: Onsite

  • Travel: Up to 15%

  • Relocation: Yes
