OVERVIEW:

Middle School Teachers at Kent Denver School are experienced, energetic, and innovative educators who demonstrate a deep understanding of early adolescent development and a commitment to student-centered, relationship-based teaching. They create structured, supportive, and engaging learning environments and collaborate closely with grade-level and departmental teams to ensure an integrated, developmentally responsive curriculum.

The full-time Middle School Science Teacher position includes teaching science, student advising, and additional responsibilities typical of Middle School faculty.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Teach four sections of middle school science

  • Advise a group of students and chaperone overnight class trips

  • Teach Fall and Spring Electives

  • Other duties as assigned, including student recess supervision

  • Develop course curriculum, lessons, and policies in collaboration with other department teachers to ensure program consistency across same grade-level classes

  • Complete routine administrative work in a timely fashion and in accordance with our school policies and practices, including taking attendance, grading, comment writing, student-parent conferences, and office hours

  • Participate in department, grade level, division, all-school meetings, and professional development days

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in a science field

  • 3+ years of experience of full-time teaching experience

  • Experience designing and developing middle school science curriculum, preferred
