Position summary:

This role is a key member of the HR People Organization, responsible for identifying and solving business challenges through data. It will advance data collection and analysis across the organization, developing and implementing tools that generate actionable insights. The role combines project management and a data analysis, using information to create business insights and project recommendations.

Pay Range: (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Analyst: $86,700 - $130,050

Advisor: $97,150 - $160,150

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with HR Leadership to efficiently integrate work process and activities. Focus on improvement of operational efficiencies, reduction of costs, enhancement of regulatory relations, development of employees, employee experience, and delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Lead or support projects that require in-depth data modeling, with the ability to manipulate and visualize data into insights.
  • Act as a data storyteller, translating complex analytical work into easily understood data insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Leverage machine learning, advanced statistics, and artificial intelligence to build predictive models, develop forecasts, and quantify complex relationships within data.
  • Design and develop Power BI reports, semantic models, and DAX measures; create interactive dashboards and paginated reports that deliver actionable insights.
  • Create data pipelines using SQL (T SQL/PL/SQL), Power Query, and scripting in R/Python to prepare, validate, and automate datasets.
  • Deliver solutions for the HR functional areas using R, Python or PowerBI (e.g., attrition prediction, headcount/schedule forecasting, pay progression modeling).
  • Analyze and quantify key workforce drivers and relationships, such as turnover by role or location, recruiting funnel conversion rates, and correlations between incident rates, training, and tenure.
  • Proactively identify process improvements, prioritize issues, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate data is collected, secure storage, and appropriate usage in compliance with privacy standards; uphold strict confidentiality of employee and business information.
  • Create and maintain clear process, model, and report documentation.
  • Provide training and change management documentation for HR teams where needed. Track impact and adoption after go-live.

What Is Required:

Analyst:

  • Bachelor's Degree Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics, data science, data engineering, or project management is required.
  • Proficiency creating reports in PowerBI and overall understanding of Power BI semantic models. Will consider experience with other reporting tools (Tableau, Business Objects, SSRS, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Power Query, MS PowerPivot systems and with SQL languages, predominately T-SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R and/or Python.
  • Ability to create queries in PeopleSoft or another HCM (Human Capital Management) system.

Advisor:

  • Master's Degree or advanced degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, data science, project management, or data engineering roles with demonstrated leadership of complex, cross-functional analytics programs.

What Is Desired:

  • Experience working within Human Resources is preferred.
  • Strong data profiling skills to analyze source system information.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, customer service, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced technical proficiency to extract and manipulate data from a variety of different platforms or sources.
  • Project management, data analytics, continuous improvement, change management and quality principles.
  • Ability to lead meetings with technical peers and upper management regarding data solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and self-direct workload and prioritize project needs and effectively manage multiple major projects simultaneously.
