Description

We are looking for a Director, National Accounts, to help us drive revenue growth, product placement, and strategic partnership development across Trex's most influential Pro Channel dealer accounts. As a Trex Director, National Accounts, you will be looked to as an innovator in the manufacturing process and expected to lead national and regional sales strategies, optimize product assortment and distribution, and builds executive level customer relationships that strengthen Trex's position as a category leader. This role is a key member of our National Accounts team.

Strategic Planning & Business Leadership



  • Develop and execute national and regional account business plans, including pricing, promotions, product mix, and long-range growth strategies.
  • Identify account-level opportunities to increase market share, expand product placement, and enhance customer engagement.
  • Align account strategies with broader enterprise objectives, ensuring consistency with Trex's brand, operational capabilities, and financial goals.
  • Monitor and forecast sales performance to adjust plans proactively and maintain consistent business momentum.


Customer & Partner Relationship Management



  • Serve as the primary executive contact for high-value national and multi-site dealer partners, strengthening long-term trust and loyalty.
  • Build relationships with senior-level stakeholders to deepen alignment, improve performance, and secure strategic placement opportunities.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers to assess performance, address needs, and capture insights that influence future planning.
  • Advocate for customer needs internally while ensuring Trex's business objectives are maintained and advanced.


Sales Growth & Revenue Optimization



  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities-expanding product penetration, enhancing category performance, and driving volume growth.
  • Lead contract negotiations to establish terms that support sustainable revenue, margin expansion, and longterm partnership value.
  • Develop strategies to increase sellthrough and improve product mix performance within assigned national accounts.
  • Track and analyze sales metrics to guide decisionmaking and ensure achievement of topline performance targets.


Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Partner with marketing, supply chain, product management, and accounting teams to align national account needs with internal capabilities.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure optimal inventory positioning, forecast accuracy, and service levels.
  • Collaborate on promotional programs, merchandising initiatives, and product launches that enhance market impact.
  • Facilitate internal communication to ensure team members and partners understand customer expectations and strategic priorities.


Market Intelligence & Competitive Insight



  • Monitor competitor pricing, product performance, merchandising strategies, and market trends to inform account planning.
  • Evaluate customer feedback and category insights to help shape product strategies and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Provide leadership with regular updates on competitive threats, industry dynamics, and market developments.
  • Use data-driven insights to adjust account strategies and maintain Trex's competitive advantage.


Team Leadership & Development



  • Lead a team of sales professionals by setting clear goals, establishing accountability, and aligning performance with company targets.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to enhance their capabilities and support career progression.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the training, information, and tools necessary to execute effectively.


DIRECT REPORTS

Manage and provide ongoing performance, coaching, and professional development opportunities for a team of 4 direct reports (National Account Managers).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires 2-3 weeks per month of overnight travel. A valid driver's license is required.

JOB LOCATION

Eastern United States: Candidates must live East of the Mississippi River near a major airport.

EXPERIENCE

We are looking for leaders with a bachelor's degree plus 7-10 years of B2B sales experience, preferably within the building materials industry and with national or multi-site dealer customers. We want to hear from you if you have previous experience working as a National Accounts Manager or a National Accounts Director.

SALARY

Base Salary Range: $170,000-$240,000 annually.

The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual/sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.

At Trex, individual base salaries are determined based on various factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. We are committed to maintaining pay equity and consider the internal equity of our existing team members when finalizing compensation offers.
