We have an opportunity for a Sr. Project Material Management Analyst to join our team in Middletown, CT.



Working under the direction of the Planning Lead, the Sr. Project Material Management Analyst will be responsible for the coordination of planning activities for the machine shop. The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in scheduling, capacity planning techniques related to level loading, resource utilization, and detailed requirements planning processes.



Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:



Coordinate with Planning, Procurement, Operations, and other functional teams to support machine shop workflow and scheduling requirements. Work from established program plans to develop, maintain, and monitor schedules. Perform diversified analytical duties related to the identification and resolution of material management problems associated with multiple programs and projects to meet on-time delivery.



  • Plan and schedule machine shop orders.
  • Keep inventory levels balanced in MRP.
  • Analyze demand and supply balance, determine out of balance conditions; identify risk, proactively risk-mitigate.
  • Release purchase requisitions for raw material and machine shop support requests.
  • Create shipments request for outside processing.
  • Coordinate with assigned buyers on purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Perform follow-up on purchase orders to track delivery, expedite delivery, resolve discrepances, and escalate issues as need.
  • Follow progress of workflow, investigates delays, and provides status updates to the IPTs.
  • Participate in program status reviews meetings to report status, identify risks and constraints, and recommend actions.
  • Provide scheduling input for engineering changes with the intent of supporting customer and program requirements.
  • Provide input to maintain accurate manufactured lead-times.
  • Lead by example: prevent errors; perform work in accordance with department and company policies & procedures.
  • Interface with Managers, Supervisors and Group Leaders to optimize and manage flow of work on the manufacturing floor.
  • Provide feedback to managers and supervisors regarding material shortages and concerns.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and make decisions under tight schedules.
  • Candidate must be able to work well in a pro-team environment, with the ability to adapt to a constantly changing landscape.




Education




  • Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as manufacturing, procurement, and materials planning. Requires understanding and use of MRP systems/manufacturing processes. Good oral and written communications skills and working knowledge of PC-based word processing, spreadsheet and database application software. Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational experience (e.g. certs, CEUs, etc.)




Experience




  • 3 to 5 years of related materials planning experience, preferably in a machine shop environment.
