Overview

The Associate Technical Production Lead supports daily production operations across a multi-project team environment. This role combines hands-on technical production with project management responsibilities, requiring a strong understanding of workflows, resource planning, and risk identification. Beyond technical execution, this individual plays an active role in team development through mentorship, performance support, and process improvement - helping drive consistent, high-quality project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, including setup, planning, estimation, resource forecasting, and delivery
  • Track and report project status to the team lead, proactively identifying and escalating risks
  • Forecast and adjust team resources across projects to ensure deadlines are met
  • Delegate work effectively, recommend task leads, and define task scope for each project
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and stakeholders to maintain clear project communication
  • Assist with team supervision, including 1-on-1s, PTO tracking, and performance feedback
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training plan development for new team members
  • Train and mentor team members and task/tech leads on workflows, best practices, and soft skills
  • Standardize and enforce workflow processes to ensure consistency and adherence to client specifications
  • Contribute to production when needed by performing data processing tasks
  • Drive continuous improvement through kick-offs, retrospectives, and process refinement


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of Lidar production experience, with team leadership responsibility (task lead, technical lead roles)
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, quality control, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with project tracking and resource management tools
  • Solid communication skills with ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Experience mentoring team members and supporting professional development

Experience/Skills Preferred (in addition to requirements):

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geography, or related field
  • Familiarity with lidar acquisition methods, including aerial, mobile, and UAV
  • Familiarity with project planning, setup, estimation, resourcing and labor forecasting
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies
  • Able to handle changing timelines and accommodate changes in project priorities
