The Opportunity We are seeking a Manager, Content , to join our Firm. This position will be based in our New York office (hybrid). The Manager, Content is responsible for leading the drafting and editing of a wide range of marketing materials, both internal and external, while ensuring all content aligns with the firm's brand and style guidelines. This role requires advanced writing and communication skills, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple projects and departments. The manager will help develop strategic initiatives, oversee projects from inception to completion, and mentor junior colleagues to foster professional growth.
- Manages a range of projects across the content function, collaborating closely with the head of the Special Projects team and the head of content to develop content strategies aligned with the firm's business development and marketing goals.
- Drafts, edits and gains necessary approvals on a variety of content, including firm news, practice capabilities descriptions, website content, marketing brochures and one-pagers, social media posts, attorney biographies, recruitment marketing, awards items, event invites and more.
- Builds cohesive content campaigns that communicate the firm's messaging across platforms and amplify our brand
- Reviews industry publications to stay up to date on legal news and practice developments; assists with practice-specific content projects as needed.
- Creates internal communications in collaboration with the firm's internal communications manager, including overseeing the firm's weekly internal newsletter, assisting with internal marketing campaigns and drafting talking points and speeches.
- Reviews and edits firm-produced podcast episodes, gains necessary approvals, reviews and drafts show notes, and drafts related social media posts.
- Collaborates on drafting and regularly updating website content, including implementation of an editorial calendar for such updates.
- Works together with the firm's social media team to develop strategies and initiatives to bolster engagement.
- Assists with content strategy and execution on multimedia projects, including videos.
- Reviews content for grammar, style and consistency.
- Ensures all content complies with firm policies, brand guidelines and style.
- Ensures focused, effective materials and copy that is accurate and error-free.
- Collaborates on strategies for more engaging and reader-friendly content.
- Engages in strategic planning by collaborating with the Content team to meet goals and develop new initiatives to maximize the firm's content.
- Collaborates with departments across the firm, including business development and marketing, to execute cohesive content initiatives.
- Demonstrates effective decision-making.
- Manages firm resources responsibly.
- Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and journalistic interviewing skills.
- Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends and techniques
- Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems (InDesign and in-house AI platforms).
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities, organizing and prioritizing work.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters, maintain confidentiality, use discretion, and exercise independent and sound judgment.
- Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of seven years experience in a content or communications function.
- Legal content and marketing experience preferred.
