Your responsibilities

The Spare Parts Engineer is responsible for making decisions on engineering, design, manufacturing, costs, and commercial aspects of parts sales and production. Requires interactions with multirole teams both domestic and globally, as well as interactions with customers and sales teams. Will be responsible for building an engineering foundation for cement plant spare parts to support the sales force and the customer's needs. Will handle some direct sales through interactions with cement plant personnel. Some site visits to plants and manufacturing facilities will be required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Must interact with sales and service teams, vendors, and customers.
  • Occasional site visits to cement plants and manufacturing partners.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods of metal fabrication and machine shops.
  • Knowledge of SAE and ASTM steel grades, polymers, and composites.
  • Ability to read both metric and imperial CAD/engineering drawings and interpret the function of parts and machinery communicated.
  • Generate detail drawings and parts lists for equipment fabrication.
  • Prepare and issue requests for quotations and purchase requisitions.
  • Analyze manufacturing proposals and quotations for adherence to company designs and specifications.
  • Perform technical reviews of vendor designed components that interface with proprietary equipment.
  • Conduct inspections of fabricated components
  • Prepare, maintain, and complete quality control documentation for conformity to corporate standards.
  • Ability to consider and propose engineering solutions to improve existing installations of parts and machinery.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will have no direct supervisory responsibilities.


Your profile

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering and 3+ years of experience in heavy industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Microsoft 365.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, project teams, equipment suppliers, field services, and office staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with equipment utilized in the cement and minerals industries such as vertical roller mills, preheater cyclones, rotatory kilns, clinker coolers, tube mills, process gas ducts, material transport chutes, and dedusting ducts.
  • Experience with metric system and DIN/ISO standards.
  • Prior experience with SAP Document Management System (DMS).
  • German language skills.

Travel Demands:

  • Up to 10% Travel.
  • Valid Passport and Real ID Driver's License required.
