Maintenance Manager

A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

The Maintenance Manager - Aviation Maintenance provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of aviation maintenance activities supporting Coast Guard missions. With 10-15 years of Coast Guard aviation experience and FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification, this role ensures aircraft are maintained to the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and mission readiness.

The maintenance Manager oversees performing the full Continuing Airworthiness Management. It includes forecasting, planning and tracking of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, management and control of repairs, modifications, Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins, safe storage of aircraft technical records.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Maintenance Manager: Pay commensurate with experience.

Maintenance Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and performance management of aviation maintenance personnel and support staff.

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations for airframe and powerplant systems to ensure aircraft availability and mission readiness.

  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Coast Guard maintenance directives, OEM manuals, quality assurance standards, and company policies.

  • Manage progressive, phase, periodic, scheduled inspections. Manage all unscheduled maintenance in (IAW) accordance with approved maintenance manuals and programs.

  • Oversee troubleshooting and repair of turbine engines, rotor systems, avionics, hydraulics, flight controls, fuel, and environmental systems. Manage/schedule all maintenance I/A/W maintenance manuals and comply with all (PWS) Performance work statement/ (SOW)Statement of work.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping of all maintenance actions I/A/W all Alert Service Bulletin and with all FAA Airworthy directives and Coastguard regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Manage/schedule all maintenance to ensure operation ready rate meets PWS/SOW requirements.
  • The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the application of any Alert Service Bulletin and Airworthiness Directive. The supply of associated parts or kits is the responsibility of Safran for the engine-related parts and Airbus for the remaining, excluding STC.
  • Coordinate logistics, supply chain, and parts procurement to minimize aircraft downtime.

  • Implement and monitor safety programs and enforce compliance with occupational health and environmental standards.

  • Manage (POL) Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants stockade levels.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external inspections to maintain regulatory and contractual compliance.

  • Develop work schedules, manage staffing requirements, and allocate resources to meet operational demands.

  • Serve as primary on-site point of contact for customer representatives, Coast Guard command leadership, and regulatory agencies.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety performance.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Maintenance Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance management, Aviation Technology, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Certifications:

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification required.

  • Military platform certifications preferred.

  • OSHA or safety management training preferred.

Experience:

  • 10-15 years of Coast Guard aviation maintenance experience required.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with rotorcraft and turbine engine platforms.

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in an aviation maintenance environment preferred.

  • Experience managing maintenance documentation, inspections, and regulatory compliance programs required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in maintenance environments as required.

  • Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 25 pounds.

  • Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.

  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
