Description and Requirements

As the Technology Trends & Partnerships Analyst, you will play a vital role in helping the Cloud & Software Organization execute their AI strategy. We are seeking a forward-thinking analyst to identify, evaluate, and translate technology trends into actionable opportunities for our software team. This role bridges external innovation with internal execution, focusing on venture capital activity, incubator partnerships, and strategic technology scouting. The ideal candidate will have a strong curiosity, be self-starter, and will have the ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Scouting: Continuously investigate emerging technologies, platforms, and startups across global markets. Attend conferences, monitor industry publications, and engage with thought leaders to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Venture Capital Intelligence: Analyze VC investment patterns, funding rounds, and portfolio trends to understand where capital is flowing and which technologies are gaining traction.
  • Trend Deciphering & Use Case Development: Synthesize complex technology trends and create clear, actionable use cases for internal software teams. Facilitate partnerships with leading technology incubators and startups to pilot new solutions with our Cloud & Software Incubation team.
  • Research & Reporting: Produce regular reports and presentations on technology trends, VC activity, and partnership opportunities. Communicate findings to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with VCs, incubators, and startup founders. Represent the Cloud and Software organization at industry events and foster collaboration between external innovators and internal teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Business IT, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in technology research, venture capital, corporate innovation, or startup ecosystems. This requirement can potentially be met by internships and/or co-ops.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, investment trends, and technical concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex information clearly through PowerPoint presentations
  • Experience with data analysis tools, market intelligence platforms, and technology scouting methodologies
  • Ability to work onsite in Morrisville, NC at least 3 days per week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with or within venture capital, incubators, or technology accelerators
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI, quantum computing, cloud infrastructure, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop use cases and pilot projects in partnership with external innovators
  • Network of contacts in the VC and startup community
  • Strong critical thinking, influencing, and relationship management skills.
